Easy Assam (TGFOP)
Easy Assam (TGFOP)
Bold, Jammy, and Made for Milk
Some teas are quiet. Easy Assam is not. If you're searching for a bold, full-bodied black tea that holds its own with milk and fills your mornings with something worth savouring, you've found it. This low-elevation Assam estate tea is gloriously tippy with a jammy second-flush character and honeyed undertones that invite you to slow down and let your cup be as full and sweet as the life you're building around it.

Steeped in Story
Easy Assam carries a designation that tells you exactly what you're getting: TGFOP, Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe. Those tips matter. Grown at low elevation in the Assam valley, this estate tea develops a bolder, more full-bodied character than its high-grown counterparts. Earthy and jammy, it has a natural sweetness that opens up beautifully with a little milk. For a distinctly Canadian cup, reach for your favourite wildflower honey (we just won’t tell [George Orwell](http://www.booksatoz.com/witsend/tea/orwell.htm)).
Are You a Miffer or Tiffer?
Easy Assam arrives with presence. This is a tea with structure, one that holds up to milk rather than disappearing into it. In fact, it mellows and opens with milk, revealing even more of its warm, full character. But here is the age-old debate: milk first or tea first? Miffers pour the milk in first, historically believed to be the correct way to protect delicate fine china from cracking due to thermal shock from the boiling water, i.e. having nothing at all to do with the flavour of the tea. Tiffers pour the tea first and are obviously correct. Um, I mean, have a fair point that the tea to milk ratio is better controlled this way. Either way, this tea is an Easy yes.
Tasting Notes
Bold and full-bodied. The second-flush jammy profile gives it a satisfying richness, while honeyed undertones soften the edges into something genuinely lovely. Superbly astringent in the best possible way. Mellows beautifully with milk. Exceptional with wildflower honey. A morning anchor. A midday reset. An invitation to take your time.
