A Tea Worth Seeking

Darjeelings have always been some of my favourites. When I see one on a café or restaurant menu, I know there is intention behind the tea program and I'll reach for it every time. After all, it's the Champagne of teas. White tea also holds a special place in my heart as my son's favourite. It’s our go-to for Gong Fu sessions over a game of Lambsy, five or six infusions deep, exploring every layer the leaves have to offer. So when I found this white tea from Risheehat, I knew it would be something special for our tea cupboard and yours.

Tea gardens dot the valleys to the north-west of Darjeeling, one of the world's most celebrated tea-growing regions. In Risheehat, the "home of holy sages," approximately 256 hectares of tea fields run over steep, well-drained mountain terrain, bathed in mist and steeped in tradition. Here, at elevations that coax complexity from every leaf, only the top two leaves and a bud are selected at harvest, the gold standard of fine tea production. The result is a single-origin Darjeeling white tea of rare elegance, prized by tea lovers and sommeliers alike.
