Jasmine Gold Dragon
Jasmine Gold Dragon
Jasmine is the quintessential night-blooming flower. Plant it in your garden next to your favourite evening spot, and you won’t be disappointed. Pair it with this intoxicating organic jasmine tea, and the night only gets better.
As you inhale the fragrant essence of jasmine, extend gratitude to the flower pickers and tea makers who work with the utmost care to produce this superior quality tea. Imagine them heading into the fields to pick jasmine, setting out after the sun goes down, and returning to layer the carefully selected tea with the delicate blossoms. Come morning, the blossoms have gracefully relinquished their essence to the tea and will be removed, one by one. This process continues for four more nights until, with just one sip, the drinker is immersed in the heady fragrance and transported to a field of flowers.
Q&A with Bree, founder and tea artist
Q&A with Bree, founder and tea artist
Q: Why are there no jasmine flowers in the tea?
A: Since all the essence and fragrance of the flowers are transferred to the tea during the production process, there is no need to include the flowers afterward. In fact, the absence of flowers is indicative of the additional care put into the making of the tea—you can imagine the effort required to remove all those tiny blossoms!
Q: What is the origin of this tea?
A: This beautifully scented tea hails from China’s Jiangxi Province, where tea is grown at elevations between 1,500 and 4,900 feet above sea level.
Q: How long will my tea keep? Can I buy it as a gift today and keep it for a few months?
A: Tea does not “spoil,” but over time the flavour will diminish if it is not stored properly. Although not impermeable, our wood cellulose bags are quite good at keeping out oxygen and moisture, though not light. Bagged teas should be stored in a cool, dry place (that does not include the cupboard over the stove!) and will remain fresh for a year, but will slowly start to lose some of their flavour over time. If you plan to gift this tea and hold onto it for a while, we recommend the gifting tin, which, when stored in the dark, will do a better job of keeping the tea fresh.
