I love this tea, what gives it that silky texture?

You have the marshmallow leaves, primarily, to thank for the silkiness of the infusion. It's right there in the Latin name of the plat family Malvaceae from the Greek word malake, which means 'soft'. 

I have celiac, what can you tell me about the oatstraw?

Although our supplier does not process any wheat products, and although our facility is gluten-friendly, we know that many oat crops are at risk of contamination by their proximity to wheat fields and/or the transportation and processing that they undergo through the supply chain. Only you know the level of your sensitivity and the tolerance for gluten, even if in the parts per million. If sensitivity is high and tolerance low, you can always request a custom blend in which we leave the oatstraw out. Simply make the request by email.

I’m sensitive to strong flavours—how subtle are the floral and grassy notes in TranquiliTEA? Is the lemony undertone noticeable, or is it more of a background hint?

While this tea is light in flavour, it's important to be a fan of floral notes, as they take centre stage. The rose and lavender shine beautifully while the calendula adds a subtle, surprising sharpness that complements the medium-toned grassy notes. The lemony hint, emanating from the rose hips, lingers in the background, gently rounding out the flavour on the palate.

Rose hip*, Lemon balm*, Lavender**, Oatstraw*, Marshmallow leaf*, Calendula*, Rose petals*.

**Grown spray-free on Vancouver Island.

Steeping instructions

Pour 1 cup boiling water over 1 to 1.5 tsp tea. Cover. Wait
5+ mins. Strain off and pour boiling water back over the tea and steep overnight on the counter or in the fridge. Reheat and enjoy the next evening with next to no effort.
