Darjeeling
Darjeeling
Grown at high altitude and under sometimes harsh conditions, the tea plants in Darjeeling must work extra hard to survive. As a result, Darjeeling teas are complex in flavour and tend towards a lighter body and are often considered the 'champagne' of teas. This certified organic estate TGFOP (Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe) Darjeeling is grown at 3500 - 7000 feet (1066 - 2134 m) above sea level. Such high altitudes result in relatively cool weather. As such, the bushes do not grow quickly and as such the production is limited but the tea exquisite. The fragrance and taste is a complex bouquet that reaches right out of the cup. Some would describe the taste as nutty; others find it reminds them of black currants, but most often it is described as similar to the taste and fragrance of muscat grapes. You will enjoy every minute of this beautiful tea.
