Yellow Tea for a Rare Taste of Warm Kenyan Sun
You were looking for something beyond the ordinary, something that rewards curiosity. Yellow tea is one of the rarest categories in the world, and this Kenyan version is rarer still. Crafted through a gentle steaming and wrapping process that coaxes a fledgling green into something mellower and more mysterious, Kenyan Sun delivers a soft, golden-green cup that is unlike anything you have tried before. This is tea for the explorer in you.

A Story Worth Discovering
How yellow tea came to be is not known with certainty. Perhaps an emperor demanded tribute before his green tea was fully dried and cooled. Or perhaps a tired apprentice, leaving his work for a break, accidentally tucked the leaves away under his apron and returned to find something unexpectedly transformed. Whatever the provenance, the result is one of the world's most elusive tea categories, and this Kenyan expression is rarer still.
Yellow tea is made by taking a fledgling green one gentle step further, steaming and wrapping the leaves and repeating the process until a mellow, luminous cup emerges. Not quite green, not quite oolong. Something entirely its own.
From the Kenyan Highlands
Kenya is celebrated for bold black tea (Legacy Black being a lovely example), and its yellow tea tradition is almost entirely unknown. That rarity is precisely what drew me in. This Kenyan Sun yellow tea is a gentle nudge to embrace discovery and enjoy a little taste of warm Kenyan sun. My hope is that it finds you exactly when you need a reminder that the most beautiful things are often the ones you never thought to look for.
Tasting Notes
A soft, golden-green cup that glows like sunlight through a canopy of leaves. Sweet grass, pine nut and nectar unfold gently, with a texture as unhurried and silky as an afternoon with nowhere to be. A whisper of astringency lingers just long enough to invite another sip.
